Frequently asked questions (faq)
General INFORMATION
What is THE Tampa Training Ground (TTG)?
We are central Tampa’s indoor and outdoor club-neutral soccer and futsal training facility. The TTG is designed for players who want to have a blast, train with intention, sharpen their technical skills, and bridge the gap between team practices and individual growth. We serve athletes of all ages, levels, and backgrounds.
Where are WE located?
Our facility is located at 6621 Memorial Hwy, Tampa, FL 33615. We are conveniently situated within walking distance of Starbucks, Chick Fil-A, Publix, Home Depot, and other local shops.
What does "club-neutral" mean?
It means we are not a club team. We don’t compete against local clubs; instead, we support them. Players from any club or organization can train with us to improve their individual game without any conflict of interest.
When are we open? (All times Eastern)
Our schedule is posted on our website, www.tampatrainingground.com, and on our IG @tampatrainingground.
Our current interim schedule: right now, we are training 4-7p Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and 9-12a on Saturdays. We are also hosting adult leagues and pickup games in the evenings and pickup for any and all 12-2p on Saturdays.
We’ll be open nearly every weekday and weekend, 50+ weeks a year, once our indoor buildout is completed.
Training & Programs
What age groups do WE train?
While we offer programs for various ages, our primary youth training focus is for players aged 6 to 17. We also offer recreational fitness for youth and adults, unlimited open play, and coach and referee licensure & education, to all of our TTG Members.
What does training look like?
Training sessions are one hour each and there is a key skill developed every month based on age and skill level. Individual player notes are provided to each TTG Member within their profile starting after the third session.
What skills are covered in the training sessions?
Our REAL curriculum focuses on the following, but is not limited to:
Ball Mastery: Close control and confidence in tight spaces.
First Touch: Receiving under pressure and scanning the field.
1v1 Play: Attacking creativity and defensive composure.
Small-Sided Games: High-rep futsal play to build "Game IQ."
Finishing: Scoring technique with both feet and angle awareness.
WhY FUTSAL?
Futsal is played on a harder surface with a smaller, heavier ball, which forces quicker decision-making and finer ball control. It has been instrumental in technical advancement in Europe and South America. We utilize dedicated futsal pitches to build controlled, intelligent, creative players.
Do WE offer private training?
Yes! We offer 1-on-1 private training for personalized attention and small group training (2–10 players we then break into smaller groups by skill level as needed) for those looking to develop their touch, speed of play, and situational awareness in a high-energy environment.
Membership & Facility
What are the benefits of TTG Membership?
Members receive access to consistent, professional coaching and unlimited open play and pickup sessions. Membership is the best way to ensure accelerated fitness and development through high-frequency touches on the ball.
Said another way, we need to get away from just pay-to-play in the U.S. and give youth access to fields and facilities to just have fun and play for as long as they can! This is the TTG’s inherent value to our Tampa community.
Is the facility indoor or outdoor?
Both! As of early 2026, our outdoor synthetic turf pitch is fully operational. Our full indoor facility—featuring three additional pitches, conditioning areas, and comfortable viewing areas—is scheduled to open in mid-2026.
WHAT IS THE COST OF MEMBERSHIP?
We are currently offering TTG Foundation Memberships for $100/month for one full year. Foundation Memberships allow your entire family to train as often as your youth trainees want and need, as well as unlimited open play and pickup and access to any events we host (Basically any and all things soccer without being charged for each and every item).
These will go to the first 100 families that sign up and then we anticipate going to $249/monthly thereafter, which is still a heavy discount given how much soccer this provides a family every month.
Can I try a session before committing?
Absolutely. We often offer a free first session for new youth players. Please email us at info@tampatrainingground.com to book your spot.
Do WE offer camps?
Yes, once our full indoor renovation is completed, we’ll host summer and holiday camps and clinics designed to align with "real-world" parent working hours to make it easier for families to manage their schedules while their athletes stay active.

COACHING & REFEREE INFORMATION
Who are the coaches?
Our training is overseen by professionally licensed coaches led by our Director of Player & Coach Development, Mike Singleton, who brings experience from NCAA Division I and US Soccer "A" licensing to our curriculum. Read more about Director Singleton and the team on the “Who We Are” page.
What coaching and referee education are we offering?
We’re also here to ensure coaches and referees have a path for licensure and certification. Whether it’s a grassroots coaching certificate all the way through “D” and “C” licenses alongside FIFA referee training, we provide all of the above through programs led by our Director of Player and Coach Development, Mike Singleton. Visit the “Coach” page and/or send an email to info@tampatrainingground.com for more information.

Logistics & Safety
What should my child bring to training?
Players will need a water bottle, shin guards, and appropriate footwear. For our outdoor turf, cleats or turf shoes/trainers are fine; for our futsal courts, flat-soled indoor soccer shoes/trainers are required.
Note all TTG Members are required to sign off on the TTG’s waivers. Sign up is free on tampatrainingground.com.
FIELD & FACILITY RENTAL
If your organization has a proven track record as being youth/adult positive (We are not fussed on the sport or activity!), we are happy to work with you on field and facility rentals. Our general charge is $100 per hour per field and this can differ based on number of fields needed, use, and duration. Feel free to reach out to us at info@tampatrainingground.com.
